Sicily, it is in the land of Filippo Luna that his tour will begin in three theater reviews of the Latitudini regional circuit.
This intense and monologue is scheduled in three Sicilian provinces: in Calascibetta (Enna) Thursday 13 April at 20.15 pm at the Teatro Comunale for the “Sulla Vetta” review, organized in collaboration with the Contoli – Di Dio company; Friday 14 April at 20.30 pm at the De Curtis Theater in Serradifalco (Caltanissetta) for “Accade solo a Teatro” by the In Arte association and Sunday 16 April at 18.30 pm at the Nuovo Teatro Val D'Agrò in Santa Teresa (Messina) included in the program “The curtain rises” by the Sikilia Association.
"The thousand blue bubbles” tells a clandestine love story born in the Palermo of the Sixties that continues, parallel to a so-called “normal” life, for thirty years.
Nardino and Manuele, the former a neighborhood barber, the latter a lawyer: they know each other, very young, in the shaving salon where Nardino apprentices under the watchful eye of his father while Manuele is the son of a wealthy client.
It was the beginning of the Sixties, precisely when Mina went crazy with “The Thousand Blue Bubbles”. Destined for pre-established social and family roles (irreproachable husbands and caring fathers) the two carry forward for thirty years a story of feeling and passion that also feeds on the clandestinity in which it is lived, which is its lifeblood and torment at the same time. Manuele's death, due to illness, becomes the pretext for Nardino, unable to openly mourn the man she loved and to shout out her pain to everyone, to retrace some stages of those thirty years, between nostalgia and bitterness, anger and sweetness. An altar of memories that establishes the universality of that feeling beyond every barrier and every preconception.
For the interpretation of this show, Filippo Luna received the 2010 National Association of Theater Critics Award for having created "a perfect scenic-actoral synthesis of emotion and disenchantment".
Gigi Spedale, President of Rete Latudini, declares: “This mini tour is an example of the aims and role of the Latitudini Network: valorisation of the precious Sicilian dramaturgy, promotion and enrichment of programming in the small towns and villages of the province, where depopulation and the consequent disappearance of theater seasons are taking place. Thanks to the support of the regional FURS, to the commitment of our associated companies, of artists like Filippo Luna and authors like Turi Rizzo, we are in complete contrast with the trend: despite the forced stop of the pandemic, even in the most remote territories the theaters are once again filling up with spectators enthusiastic about our proposals.”
