Salerno: the next stop of “Gusto Italia” touches Santa Maria di Castellabate.

La marine hamlet of Castellabate, recognized with the Blue Flag and also the Green Flag awarded by Italian paediatricians, will give space to the Made in Italy:, between typical products and craftsmanship. Furthermore, this year marks a important anniversary which will act as the common thread in all the initiatives: the celebration of 900 years since the foundation of the town.

Taste Italy, a traveling event signed by the Italia Eventi Association, is sponsored by the Municipality of Castellabate, thanks to the interest of the mayor Marco Rizzo and the Councilor Nicoletta Guariglia, by the Cilento, Vallo di Diano and Alburni National Park, by the Chamber of Commerce of Salerno, of the National Crafts Confederation CNA of Salerno and of the UNOE, the National Union of Event Organizers.

As usual entry will be free and freea opening hours which will go from 17pm to midnight. To embellish the market there will be the National Puppet Theater of Ancient Tradition by Mauro Apicella, which will be active from Friday to Sunday.

"We love returning to coastal Cilento, Santa Maria is an essential stop on our summer tour. Here there is history, the culture of excellent productions is felt and the great natural heritage is protected and enhanced. Let us rediscover our values ​​and our passion for a nation that deserves attention and care", underlines the president of Italia Eventi, Giuseppe Lupo.

There are five Italian regions present to this stage: from Campania cured meats, cheeses, truffles, fruit compotes and artisan biscuits from Irpinia will arrive. There are many typical sweets from Campania, but also donuts, crepes and waffles in various flavors and colours. For those with a sweet tooth, candies, lollipops and marshmallows from a young company, hemp and fennel liqueur. From Capaccio Paestum excellent honey from artisanal beekeeping, together with numerous derived products. From the Puglia crumbly taralli, even without yeast and in many flavours. From Basilicata artisanal pasta, cruschi peppers, legumes, cheeses and cured meats including the well-known Canestrato di Moliterno and a medieval wine obtained from an ancient recipe. From the Calabria lots of liquorice, from which a series of variations and combinations are born. From the Sicilia Modica chocolate, together with the many typical desserts of the island including cannoli and almond paste.

Rich too the craft corner, where it will be possible to find costume jewellery, but also handcrafted ceramics, scented crystals, nice magnets to give as gifts and aromatherapy products. There are many leather products, hats and bracelets, but also painted tiles by a Cilento artist.

Gusto Italia on tour is active every day from 17pm to midnight. Partner of the initiative is the blogzine Rosmarinonews.it.
