Enthusiasm and involvement of the public at Roywang's light painting performance which was the protagonist of the photographic exhibition Focus. My society and me.

Roywang (Sibo Wang) during the opening at the MA-EC Gallery created an interactive performance with the other artists and the public, a work of light painting whose recording will be proposed in the artist's next exhibitions both in China and in other countries.

Guinness World Record holder for the largest light painting, consultant and Chinese representative of LPWA (Light Painting World Alliance), representative of IAA China, Roywang has numerous exhibitions to his credit in Oviedo, Paris, Hong Kong, Beijing, Casablanca, New Delhi, and has won prestigious awards, including the 2022 First Prize of Intangible Cultural Heritage IP Design Competition Area of ​​the 6th. Il Light painting by Roywang is characterized by the style of Chinese mythology.

Use light as a brush, night as a curtain and use the void. The mythological animal series is inspired by the ancient Chinese literature “Shan Hai Jing”. Through the technique of light painting, the artist draws ancient animals in a realistic style that integrate with urban street scenes in contemporary architectural spaces. Combining today's cities with distant traditional culture, he expresses Chinese romanticism.

The performance was greatly appreciated by the numerous guests at the exhibition opening Focus My society and me, included in the official program of the 18th edition of Milano Photofestival, which can be visited at the MA-EC Gallery until 15 October.

The exhibition project sees 20 international artists interacting and offering photographs and videos in the elegant spaces of Palazzo Durini. In the exhibition it will be possible to see a video of Roywang with the light painting performances he has created in recent years.

Focus. My society and me wants to highlight the civil and social function of photography, an irreplaceable means of information from which to start to carry out more in-depth analyses. The photographer knows how to capture that unrepeatable moment which can become food for thought, arouse reactions, contrasts, incite the viewer to become aware of a situation, of a historical moment and perhaps trigger that desire to join a cause, to awaken conscience or even just to understand the message.
