Naples, on the issues of Resilience and Harmony, who are animating the creativity of the street artists of the third edition of Pompeii Street Festival, the first works created by street artists begin to take shape in the streets of the center and on the buildings of the Pompeian town. The interpretation of 23 artists, who came to the city from all over the world, even involved the music and cinema artists present for the event.
The program of the event, in fact, also makes use of other forms of art to achieve the promotional purpose of the territory: music and cinema, together with exhibitions and workshops with school groups, will complete the calendar of the Pompeii Street Festival 2023.
The three A's: Archeology Environment Art, are the common thread of the main focus themes to which the programming of the cinema section is dedicated with the international short and docufilm competition of the Pompeii Street Festival 2023. As many as 150 works in competition which, under the artistic direction of the filmmaker Egidio Carbone Lucifero, will be viewed by the jurors and the public who will have to elect the winner. Among the works also the documentary by the American director Katie Cleary entitled “Why On Earth”, a feature film (75') with the extraordinary participation of the well-known actor Clint Eastwood.
The awards ceremony, scheduled for Friday 30th inside the Temporary Business Museum of Pompeii, in Piazza Bartolo Longo, will confirm the final victory. During the evening, a special recognition will also be awarded with the Lifetime Achievement Award to the Neapolitan playwright Enzo Moscato and the special mention to the Ukrainian director Stanislav Konoplov for the short film “How are you?”
For music, the Pompei Street Festival focuses on transversality, addressing different generations and musical tastes. On stage, in order of date, will be Frankie Hi-NRG (30 June at 21.30pm), Planet Funk (1st July, 22.00pm). Raiz, performer in the successful TV series entitled Mare Fuori (Don Salvatore Ricci) and who created the soundtrack of the successful RAI production which has already gone platinum, will pay homage to the historic singer-songwriter Sergio Bruni (2 July, 21.30 pm). The free concerts will liven up the evenings of the festival in Piazzale Schettini. Every evening DJ Set will accompany the Pompeian nights before the concerts.
