Pescara: the La Giara Accordion Festival returns to Santa Maria dell'Arzilla.
One of the events of the culture and musical tradition of the area returns: the “Accordion Festival”, 14th national review sponsored by The Giara scheduled Thursday April 20, from 21pm, at the Santa Maria dell'Arzilla restaurant.
«We look forward to taking part in this evening which represents a celebration and an important meeting moment – stresses Daniele Vimini, deputy mayor councilor for Beauty –. The accordion is a central instrument of the popular and contemporary musical tradition, both for the power of the instrument and for the enormous and varied repertoire of which it is an interpreter. It attracts, fascinates and invites us to share, rediscover and experience our identity, functions on which we are also working for Pesaro2024, and which are facilitated and revitalized with the Accordion Festival."
La evening-event will take place in the name of one gastronomic proposal of quality and great music: «It is an event which, like the other initiatives promoted by La Giara, creates sharing and involvement of citizens. It is beautiful and important to see how local activities are working to enhance tradition and leave a mark in this sense in our city" added Francesca Frenquellucci, councilor for Innovation and Participation.
Roberto and Gianluca Scaglioni, owners of La Giara, they recalled: «The event was created to highlight an important instrument that has marked our identity and the local gastronomic tradition. A union between music and good food, which we renew to underline the past of La Giara: decades ago it was a farmhouse where we gathered in front of the fireplace, chatted and dined and, at a certain point in the evening, the tables were moved , the accordion started playing and we danced. The exhibition allows us to go back to being children, and to look in the mirror of times gone by, thanks also to the support of local institutions and associations."
Among guests of the 14th evening, 21 accordionists: «“Loads of 90” – explains the artistic director Athos Donini – who will perform ranging between various musical genres: from tango to jazz, passing through varieté. Among these Daniele Donadelli, world-famous accordionist who has also performed in the United States, composer and winner of the first prize at the National Accordion Competition; Claudio Di Muzio, a native of Romagna, twice world accordion champion. Also present was Anna Maria Allegretti, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Luca Bergamini, known throughout Italy, will present the evening, during which prestigious international accordions and accordions of the caliber of Mengascini, Moreschi, Stocco and Cooperfisa will be on display and can be admired and "touched".
