Pesaro, the 7th course of volunteers and family support administrators will start from 9 April. Mengucci: «Initiative of unique value in the Marche»

The service presents itself as a concrete response to the constant increase in the use of the figure of the Support Administrator in the family context

Pesaro continues to "leave no one behind" and expands its range of intervention by strengthening an innovative - and unique - service in the regional territory. From April 7th, with the ninth edition, the training course for "Volunteers and family support administrators" organized by Legal Protection Service of the Social Territorial Area 1 in collaboration with the Diocesan Caritas and Volunteer Service Center.

«The Municipalities and the Social Territorial Areas are the institutions closest to the citizens, they are the ones who are the first to understand, interpret and respond to contingent needs. This training course, associated with the excellent support offered by the ATS1 Legal Protection Service, is the putting into practice of the receptive approach of the bodies that promote it; entities that have managed to take up a challenge and respond in a practical and direct way to the emerging needs of the social fabric" he explains Sara Mengucci, President of the Mayors' Committee ATS 1.

In conjunction with the pandemic, there has in fact been a constant increase in the use of the figure of the Support Administrator in the family context; trend that has pushed the promoters of the course to provide for the admission of family members who are about to fill this role or who already hold it. And to increase and strengthen the network of volunteers, the Legal Protection Service, managed by the Coop. Labirinto has decided to also involve professionals from Caritas of Pesaro and the Pesaro Volunteer Service Center in the training.

«We immediately accepted the invitation made to us by the Legal Protection Service to actively participate in this training course – he adds Daniela Scansalegna, social worker Caritas Pesaro Foundation -. Becoming a support administrator is a way of volunteering on the front line, involving yourself in an experience which is, at the same time, an expression of particular attention towards the most vulnerable people, and of a high civic sense towards the whole city. As Caritas we reflect these values and fully support this project."

«We must increasingly be an educating community capable of welcoming fragilities, conveying an important message to citizens: each of us can make a difference – he adds Tomas Nobili, president of the provincial delegation of the Marche Volunteer Service Center -. CSV has always worked on training volunteers so that they are a resource for the territory, this training course goes exactly in this direction. I thank the Legal Protection Service of the Social Territorial Area 1 for the initiative which has seen us as partners for several years".

The course provides 5 free meetings, which will take place every Wednesday, from 17pm to 30pm, from 19 April to 30 May (it will be possible to access the online platform where they will take place after registration has been validated). The lessons, which will be conducted by professionals from different fields, aim to provide volunteers and family members with technical-legal notions, tools necessary to deal with the role of support administrator, indications on how to manage the relationship with the beneficiary.

The course will also make it possible to strengthen the link between support administrators (volunteers and family members) and the Legal Protection service within the network of services dedicated to the protection of frailties and marginalized people. Over 50 volunteer support administrators have been trained in recent years by courses promoted by the Legal Protection Service (since December 2014, the date from which this ATS1 desk was activated). Figures today a point of reference for the Court and for Territorial Services. «They are recent graduates, pensioners, citizens who have decided to offer their time, perseverance and commitment to those who find themselves in a difficult situation. A different, extremely intense and educational way of volunteering, of putting yourself at the service of others. We are proud of this initiative started more than 6 years ago which we hope can be taken as an example by other institutions" continues Mengucci.
