Pesaro: “Capital Encounters”, meeting on Tuesday 27 February at 21pm in the rooms of Palazzo Ciacchi.
It will be focused on 'World disorder' the dialogue between Massimo D'Alema and Marco Tarquinio scheduled for Tuesday 27 February in Pesaro (Palazzo Ciacchi, 21pm). The initiative is part of the 'Capital Encounters' event which enriches the calendar of the Italian Capital of Culture and is organized in collaboration with Passaggi Cultura, promoter of Passaggi festival.
A meeting entirely dedicated to the word and reflections on current events with the participation of two significant voices. Massimo D'Alema, one of the most well-known faces in Italian politics, in 1989 was among the young leaders of the "turning point" who, with Achille Occhetto, transformed the PCI into the Democratic Party of the Left (PDS), of which he was then elected national secretary. He held the position of President of the Council of Ministers from 1998 to 2000 and in 2006, with the Prodi Government, he was appointed vice-president and foreign minister. He is currently president of the Italianieuropei Foundation founded together with other political and cultural personalities including Giuliano Amato and Carlo Azeglio Ciampi.
Marco Tarquinio will talk to him. He is a journalist and an expert in domestic and international politics. He has worked for the weekly 'La Voce' and for various newspapers including 'Avvenire', a newspaper for which he is still an editorialist and which he directed for 14 years. Formerly a consultant to the Pontifical Council for Social Communications, he is vice-president of the Dante Alighieri Society. He was awarded, among others, the "Valerio Volpini", "Eugenio Montale" and "Ignazio Silone" awards.
