Monterosso: on Sunday 1st September Pietro Senaldi will receive the prestigious Cinque Terre Journalism Award.

Monterosso, 26 August 2024 – A Pietro Senaldi the prestigious Cinque Terre journalism award. The co-director of Libero will receive him on Sunday 1 September at the Buranco farmhouse in Monterosso, on the occasion of a meeting/debate in which Francesco Del Vigo, deputy director of the newspaper, will also participate, as well as other guests.

The jury, presided over by Del Vigo for this fourteenth edition of the event, will decide the winner, and will also be made up of the directors responsible for Qn, La Nazione, Il Resto del Carlino, Il Giorno and Il Telegrafo Agnese Pini, of the Secolo XIX the head of the La Spezia editorial team Paolo Ardito, and of Primocanale Matteo Cantile, as well as by the Corriere della Sera columnist Antonio Polito.

Once again a big name for the event conceived and promoted, as usual and with success, by the Association of Friends of the Cinque Terre chaired by Luigi Grillo, and presented today to the press in the Sala Giunta of the Chamber of Commerce.

“From this year, in particular – declares Grillo – the award will be dedicated and named after the late Gianni Del Santo, a journalist from La Spezia who worked at Tirreno, at the time when the editor-in-chief of the newspaper was Bruno Della Rosa and who, for 30 years, was the correspondent from La Spezia for Tuttosport. One of the many pens, skilled and capable, whose existence no one remembered. I was a great friend of his and with him, way back in 1962, we even created a publication, the Spesin Sportivo, which ironically modeled the Guerin Sportivo. I will not go into the merits of the qualified jury's decision on the choice of Pietro Senaldi, it will be Del Vigo himself, during the meeting on Sunday, who will motivate it to those present. I can only say that I am really pleased, I know him and appreciate his work. Furthermore, since he had never succeeded, Senaldi will finally be able to visit our splendid Cinque Terre".

Pietro Senaldi, born in Milano on September 22, 1969, is an Italian journalist, co-director of Libero, particularly known to the general public also thanks to his many participations in television programs broadcast on Rai, Mediaset, La7 and Sky as a commentator.

The Cinque Terre Journalism Award boasts the contribution from the Cariplo Foundation and the Carispezia Foundation. For Senaldi, in addition to a cash prize, also a carton of bottles of fine Sciacchetrà produced right in Buranco.

Appointment, therefore, for the awarding of the 2024 Cinque Terre Journalism Award, on Sunday 1 September, starting at 18pm, at the Agriturismo Buranco in Monterosso, which hosts the event from 2021, in the enchanting amphitheater immersed in the fragrant lemon garden.

This, finally, is the roll of honor of the Cinque Terre Journalism Award.
