Messina: “Treasures of biodiversity. From Vittorio Bottego's explorations in Africa to the current affairs of wildlife museums” in Forte Ogliastri.

Tuesday 7th, at 10am, Will be held the National conference “Treasures of biodiversity. From Vittorio Bottego's explorations in Africa to the current affairs of wildlife museums" a Fort Ogliastri. Organized by Fauna Museum of the University of Messina and in collaboration with theDepartment of Culture and Enhancement of the Fortified Heritage of the Municipality of Messina, the Conference aims to enhance the important faunal collections kept in numerous Messina schools and private institutes, in order to build a scientific and educational path, to be included among the tourist-cultural ones to be proposed.
Il Captain Vittorio Bottego he was an explorer of Royal Army who operated in Africa in the late nineteenth century, after whom Fort Ogliastri was named between the two world wars. An important section is dedicated to him at the Natural History Museum of the University of Parma.

Davide Persico, Scientific Director of the Natural History Museum of the University of Parma; the eldest Vincenzo Randazzo, President of the Le Tre Torri Study Center Association; the doctor Mauro Cavallaro, Conservator of the Fauna Museum; and Prof. Marina Morabito, CDS Coordinator of Environmental, Marine and Terrestrial Sciences of the University of Messina.
