Messina: the Italian Film Festival returns to Milazzo.M
After last year's success he returns to Milazzo, in the Province of Messina, from 7 to 10 June 2023, the Italian Film Festival, now in its fourth edition.
It was announced by the General director Franco Arcoraci, who also made the journalist's appointment official Biagio Maimone, originally from Maratea, in Basilicata, resident in Assago, as Head of the Press Office and media relations of the Festival.
The Lucanian journalist Biagio Maimone is the creator of the “Socio-humanitarian communication”, Director of Mediametanews24, the first news program in the world in the Metaverse, Deputy News Director of VAT numbers and Director of Communication of the "Bambino Gesù del Cairo" Onlus Association, whose President is Monsignor Gaid Yoannis Lahzi, former Secretary of His Holiness Pope Francis.
The current edition of the Italian Film Festival will give ample space, like the previous edition, to issues of a highly cultural and social nature, as well as other relevant themes, including the theme of sustainability.
Central importance will also be given to the theme of water, due to its implications for human life, which will be discussed by illustrious exponents of the scientific world.
Starting from this theme, a range of debates on climate change will open, according to the UN 2030 agenda, focused on the defense of the culture of life and its sharing with different peoples, territories and cultures.
The Festival wants to focus on its focus on the importance of culture and beauty understood as a generating source of good and universal love, which Cinema, due to its intrinsic identity, conveys by underlining its value as a beacon of civilization par excellence, which inevitably brings with it emancipation and a conscious gaze towards the future and, at the same time, the necessary valorization of traditions and customs, because it is an expression of the human history of peoples, to always be taken into consideration for the teachings that arise from it for the good of humanity.
But there is also another reason to talk about beauty, namely the need to convey a message of peace as Europe and the entire world experience conflicts that humiliate human dignity.
Therefore Cinema becomes an excellent means of hope by announcing that "beauty", without any doubt, will once again become the magnificent face of life, that the overwhelming force of beauty will defeat all evil.
Honorary President of the Festival is the former Director of Rai Uno Fabrizio Del Noce, while the general organization is entrusted to the Tuscan producer Matteo Cichero of Fair Play. Giusy Venuti will be responsible for the event, Pino Ammendola will be Editorial Director, Ignazio Senatore will be Artistic Director and Nello Pepe will be entrusted with the television direction of the final evening.
The last edition of the Festival achieved important media success thanks to the setting of the beautiful city of Milazzo, which overlooks the sea, and had as its aim the valorisation of national film productions, bringing films, documentaries and short films into competition.
The management of the "Silver Stars" award ceremony was entrusted to Veronica Maya who is reconfirmed by Arcoraci also for the 2023 edition.
The task of choosing who to award was entrusted to the jury composed of: Ricky Tognazzi (President of the Jury), Vincent Riotta, Giorgio Pasotti, Federico Moccia, Aurora Ruffino, Christian Marazziti, Stefania Casini, Paola Lavini, Mario Falcone, Teresa De Santis, Roberta Ammendola, Fabrizio Zappi and Marcello Foti.
