Messina, speech by the Tourism Councilor at the Blue Planet Economy Expoforum.
It was held in the spaces of Rome Fair the 2022 edition of the event “BLUE PLANET ECONOMY EXPOFORUM 2022”, in which he took part, representing the Municipality of Messina,Tourism Councilor Enzo Caruso within the Workshop "Sustainable tourism and cultural heritage”, organized by MAR Association of Rome in collaboration with Marco Polo Project in Venice e MedFort of Campo Calabro. As part of the three-day Roman event, the creation of the first "Italian Blue Route“, born with theobjective of enhancing and connecting cultural-tourist itinerary projects based on the founding principles of the connection between coastal tourist systems and the surrounding hinterland territory. In this context, theCouncilor Caruso presented, along with others Municipalities present, the peculiarities (sea-mountain) of the Messina area, capable of relating a unique and contextualized experiential tourism offer, strongly linked to the sea, to city of Messina and its Casali, now systemised through the portal and the Brand VisitME.
The "Italian Blue Route"in fact, it aims to become a planning and service platform where to collect the best experiences, already underway or which are developing, to enhance the excellence of the cultural heritage of the sea, the coast, the land and the submerged areas, with the ambition to create a national system, in the Euro-Mediterranean context, which strengthens aTerritorial Blue Economy” where to interact Institutions, Associations, Companies e Local Communities. Within a larger container, ideas and experiences were compared National institutions e partners., Category associations, University e Research centers, Investors e Ventura Capital, Foundations, NGO e Third sector and businesses relating to the issues ofInnovation and Sustainability, Coastal tourism systemsand Ecological and social transitionand Logistics and Transportation. To the Workshop "Sustainable tourism and cultural heritage“, moderated by Massimo Castellano of the MAR Association of Rome, took part: Pietrangelo Pettenò President of the MEDFORT Study Center, Stefano Landi Destination Manager DMO Etrusky, Paola Fratarcangeli Managing Director of Territorial Marketing Municipality of Santa Marinella RM), Federica Battafarano Deputy Mayor of Cerveteri (RM), Pierpaolo Perretta Delegate of Maritime and River State Property, Coastal Territory Planning, Municipality of Ladispoli (RM) Sabrina Busato President of the European Federation of Historical, Cultural and Tourist Itineraries, Carmine Marinucci, DiCulther and Alberto D'Alessandro of the Italian Council of the European Movement.
