Messina, the new ATM 12 bis line inaugurated.
Inaugurated on Monday, in the presence ofMunicipal administration, of the president of ATM Messina Giuseppe Campagna and the extraordinary commissioner of the AOU “G. Martino” of Messina Giampiero Bonaccorsi, the new bus line 12 bis, which will connect the Bordonaro interchange car park with the Messina Polyclinic, the Istituto Superiore Minutoli and the Zir terminus.
«We continue to work on the programming started in 2018 – underlined the deputy mayor Mondello - this is another piece that will serve to strengthen the Gazzi backbone. The new line will serve not only the Polyclinic, but also the schools that are present in the area such as Minutoli, the Giovanni XXIII school and other activities that require the support of the transport system. I remember that the Bordonaro interchange car park is used to prevent cars from entering the city when exiting the Gazzi motorway junction".
Giuseppe Campagna, president of ATM Messina, underlines the importance of the car park to which the public transport service is connected with the new line 12 Bis: «We have established this service to allow cars exiting the motorway to park in these new car parks created by the municipal administration in Bordonaro and on Viale Gazzi, and allow passengers to easily reach the Polyclinic. The new line will also serve the schools in the area and therefore is aimed at a very wide range of users. This is a scheduled service with vehicles scheduled every 25 minutes starting from 6 in the morning, for workers, students and citizens".
«The new Atm Spa 12 bis line will also be strategic and functional for those who have to go to our hospital – commented the extraordinary commissioner Bonaccorsi -. A service that integrates with line 36 (Policlinico ZIR) already operational within the AOU “G. Martino” and to the company shuttles that travel along the internal avenues every day with dedicated stops at each pavilion. A choice, that of joining the Atm Spa campaign, for more sustainable mobility, which the AOU “G. Martino" has fully embraced it to encourage the use of public transport also to reach the hospital, an option which also allows the traffic of vehicles within the facility to be limited and favors the more fluid transit of emergency vehicles".
