Messina: The certificates of the training courses for socio-environmental ambassadors have been delivered.
Present the Mayor Federico Basile, took place today in Palazzo Zanca the ceremony of awarding certificates to the students who participated in the training courses for socio-environmental ambassadors. The meeting was attended byCouncilor for Youth Policies Liana Cannata and the Presidents of the investee companies AMAM, MessinaServizi Bene Comune, Messina Social City and ATM SpA respectively, Loredana Bonasera, Mariagrazia Interdonato, Valeria Asquini and Giuseppe Campagna, signatories on 15 February of the memorandum of understanding aimed at promoting the culture of eco-sustainable development through a joint action strategy between the municipality, the subsidiaries and the Messina School Office.
Addressing the students, Mayor Basile explained that “schools and young people respectively represent the main and ideal place and interlocutors for dealing with issues relating to environmental education. This certificate – continued the Mayor – is not a sheet of paper, but represents the certification of having started sharing a path with us and carrying it forward together to make you an active part, participants and actors, in the promotion and eco-sustainable development through information and communication actions to convey the message of social and environmental respect. I thank all those who played a role in this project which sees the Municipality in synergy with the subsidiaries present in the schools and the Messina School Office".
Councilor Cannata announced to the students that: "The Sustainability Festival will be held on May 23rd and we expect fruitful collaboration from you, in the role of socio-environmental ambassadors, through the formulation of proposals and ideas and the dissemination of educational messages in schools and other contexts in which you operate and live to jointly achieve the objectives of the UN Agenda incorporated within our Messina 2030-Green Events project". The Presidents of the Participated Companies recounted their experience with the children during the two learning courses, which were held on 14 April at Palazzo Zanca by AMAM and Messina Social City and on 21 April in the META room of ATM by the 'Messina Transport Company and the MessinaServizi Bene Comune Company.
The students who received the certificate are twenty-three: Rita De Francesco, Jassal Nikita, Federica Scimone, Leonardo Visalli, Valeria Parialò, Aurora Scorza, Giada Cambria, Maria Giovanna Bonna, Ilenia Russo, Aria Lauritano, Giuliano Parisi, Antonio Schepici , Gregorio Puleo Centorrino, Magsino Phoebecates, Erica Zingales, Giada Orecchio, Maria Aurora Ignazzitto, Alessia Esmeralda Trevi, Olga Batolo, Giulia Rinaldi, Alessandro Chillè, Karol D'Urso and Denise Galizia. The following city schools have joined the training project: IIS G. Minutoli, IIS Antonello, Liceo La Farina-Basile, Liceo F. Bisazza, IIS Verona Trento, Liceo Maurolico, Liceo Seguenza, ITES AM Jaci and ITTL Caio Duilio.
