Messina: the Palinuro training ship of the Navy is present for the landing of Don Giovanni D'Austria.
La Sailing ship Palinuro of the Navy, at the request of the Mayor Federico Basile, will take part Next 5 August to the XV edition of "Messina in celebration on the sea. The Spectacular Landing of Don John of Austria".
The event, coordinated since 2009 by the Aurora Association, today enjoys the patronage of the Ministry of Culture of the Naval General Staff and other important institutional patronages, and is part of the calendar of events organized by Italian and foreign partners of the Euro-Mediterranean Network "On the Lepanto Routes. From Clash to Encounter”, which includes Italian, Spanish, Greek and German cities.
Lo Spectacular Landing of Don Giovanni of Austria, unique Historical – Naval procession in the Mediterranean, for its grandeur of extras, actors and naval units, is today accredited by Ministry of Culture among the most important historical re-enactments in southern Italy and has been taking place for fifteen years now thanks to the involvement and support of around forty local and national institutions and cultural associations.
