Mantua: the "three days" of Virgil and the Route of Aeneas continues.

Continue "three days" Virgilio and the Rout of Aeneas which is taking place in Mantua and Borgo Virgilio. Here is the program Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 October. The initiatives are organized by the Associazione Rotta di Enea and the Council of Europe with the patronage of the Municipalities of Mantua and Borgo Virgilio, in collaboration with the Accademia Nazionale Virgiliana, the Fondazione Virgilio and the “I Parchi Letterari” association.

Saturday 14 at 10 a conference will be held in the Virgilio Museum Park - Forte di Pietole in the municipality of Borgo Virgilio with the participation of the "Virgilio" and the "Belfiore". Speakers will include the mayor of Virgilio Francesco Aporti, the deputy mayor of Mantua Giovanni Buvoli, the president of the Virgilio Foundation and regional councilor for agriculture of Lombardy Alessandro Beduschi. Moderated by Filomena Giannotti. Giulia Caneva from the University of Rome 3 and Stephen Harrison from Oxford University will also speak. Giordano Bruno Guerri, General Director of GardaMusei and Giovanni Cafiero, President of the Associazione Rotta di Enea will conclude. The inauguration of the "Cultural Itinerary of the Council of Europe Route of Aeneas" plaque is scheduled for 12.30pm. Then a walk is planned by the Virgilio Literary Park at the Virgilio Museum Park. At 16.30 pm visit to Palazzo Te and the Virgilian places of Mantua.

Sunday 15th of, on Virgil's birthday, several events are scheduled at the Bibiena theater. The day is entitled "Aeneas's Route to Mantua: creation of the network of Virgilian cities". There will be institutional greetings from the mayor of Mantua Mattia Palazzi, the mayor of Borgo Virgilio Aporti, the president of the Navarrini Academy, the Tourism Councilor of the Lombardy Region Barbara Mazzali, Barbara Toce of the scientific committee of the Aeneas Route and the President of the Enea Cafiero Rotta Association. Therefore, the signing of the charter of values, the Mantua Manifesto, inspired by the work and spiritual legacy of Virgil, is expected. In the afternoon, from 16.30 pm, there will be a lectio magistralis by Alessandro Schiesaro of the Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa on The Aeneid in the Storm: poetics, philosophy, metaphor. At the end there will be a musical moment with a classical music concert by Paola Besutti, with an introduction by Arnoldo Mosca Mondadori. The Virgiliana Academy Quartet will play using instruments built with wood recovered from migrant boats.
