Mantova: Tanabata, la festa delle stelle innamorate al Baratta venerdì 7 luglio

Tanabata, celebrated throughout the Japan on July 7th of each year, is one of most beautiful and heartfelt parties in the country, first party of the summer. This party is one of gosekku, five most important holidays of the Japanese year.

The name Tanabata it is very ancient and probably derives from a Shinto purification ceremony, in which a miko wove a garment on a loom and then offered it to the deity to protect the harvest from the rain and ensure that it was abundant. This miko was called tanabatatsume (woman of the loom) and from this festival merged with the Chinese Kikkōden the modern Tanabata was derived. For Chinese characters, the tanabata pronunciation was therefore chosen.

La party it refers to a astronomical phenomenon and a popular legend in which the reunion of the deities Orihime and Hikoboshi represented by the stars Vega and Altair. According to legend these lovers were separated by the Milky Way being able to meet only once a year, on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month of the lunisolar calendar.
