Liguria, protagonist at "Vakantiebeurs", the most important trade fair in the Netherlands
The 2024 tourism promotion of Liguria starts again with the sector's first event of the year: it is underway in Utrecht until 14 January “Vakantiebeurs”, the most important fair in the Netherlands dedicated to travel enthusiasts and operators in the sector. Liguria is present at the collective stand of ENIT, the National Tourism Agency, with a space designed for the occasion, whose graphics refer to the outdoor activities that can be practiced in our region. A choice in line with the main focus of the event which attracts travel agents, journalists and visitors from all over Europe (and beyond) interested in the offer of outdoor tourism and looking for sustainable proposals thanks to which it is possible to integrate the discovery of the territory, the sea, culture and sport, with particular attention to trekking and cycle tourism.
“We start 2024 as we finished 2023, that is, by promoting Liguria at the most important national and international fairs – explains the regional councilor for Tourism, Augusto Sartori – The Vakantiebeurs in Utrecht is one of these and is one of the most expanding events given that this year there are more exhibitors and more visitors are expected by the organizers compared to the last edition. The choice to be present at this event is not random given that the Dutch are among the most loyal and present tourists in Liguria with almost 400 thousand presences recorded during the past year. The possibility of outdoor tourism in any season is one of the peculiarities of Liguria that most attracts tourists from the Netherlands and which we will have to increase with increasingly interesting and inviting offers".
The 2023 edition, in which the Liguria Region participated together with some operators in the sector, counted more than 65.000 visitors, with 420 exhibitors representing a total of 107 countries. Together with the region's tourism promotion agency, "In Liguria", Seven operators representing the entire Ligurian territory are present at the fair:
