The Martano State Comprehensive Institute has started the “Safe New Year” project and requested the presence of State Police personnel to deal with the delicate issue of the correct use of explosive materials due to the arrival of the upcoming holidays.
On the morning of December 5, the agents of the Otranto State Police Station, assisted by Dr. Antonio Giancarlo Spano, pyrotechnic professional, met the teaching staff and the students of all second and third classes of lower secondary school. The experts informed the students of the dangers underlying the improper use of explosive materials and the specific regulations prevention in order to discourage their use.
During the meeting, which had a lasting about two hours, the Mayor of the Municipality of Martano, Dr., was also present. Fabio Tarantino, as well as the Councilor Dr. Melania Vitto and the President of the City Council Dr. Maria Rosaria Caracuta, who have expressed great enthusiasm for the organized event and for the positive response of the participating children.
The kids and all the organizers thanked Mr. Commissioner for the opportunity given to him.
