Piediluco Lake. The Fiamme Oro Sabaudia participates in the 38th edition of the “Paolo D'Aloja” Memorial with great results

This concludes a winning weekend for the Athletes of the Fiamme Oro Sabaudia who, after a few days of rest, will return to the rally with the national team in view of the next international events.

The Fiamme Oro Sabaudia State Police Sports Group participated in the Memorial “Paolo D'Aloja”, the historic international rowing regatta now in its thirty-eighth edition, which this year was held from 22nd to 24th March in the waters of Lake Piediluco. Ten crimson athletes competed for the occasion wearing the Italian national team jersey, called by DT Cattaneo to defend the blue colors in single and multiple boats.

The first day of the Finals (Saturday 23 March) opened with the victory of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Champion Ass. Cesarini Federica who dominated the Women's Lightweight Singles, preceding her opponent from Tunisia who came second by six seconds.

Another victory forItalian Female Flagship, the Otto captained by Ag. Bumbaca Veronica, who gives further proof of great preparation in view of the next Olympic Qualifiers where Italy will try to gain another pass for Paris.

Gold also for Ag. Buttignon Stefania in the Women's Lightweight Doubles together with her formidable boat partner Silvia Crosio, while the new mother Ag. had to settle for the Silver Medal. English-Hawke Kiri, who competed in the Women's Fours with her teammates Montesano, Iseppi and Corazza.

In the men's sector it is Silver for the Singles Ag. Mumolo Davide who surrenders at the finish line only to the Serbian Pimenov, after a wonderful performance. It is instead Gold for both the consolidated pair of Two Without Male Ag. Comini Davide and Ag. Codato Giovanni, who lead their opponents from the Czech Republic by four seconds, both for the Men's Pairs Four with Ag. Carucci Nicolò together with the Fiamme Gialle trio Panizza, Gentili and Chiumento. Gold medal and excellent performance for the new Quattro Senza Maschile crew formed by Ag. Close by was Giuseppe, already a double Olympic Bronze medalist at Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020, who rowed for the occasion together with Giovanni Abagnale, Matteo Lodo and Nicholas Kohl. In the last Final of the day, the Senior Men's flagship climbs to the top step of the podium with the crew made up of Ag. Della Valle Matteo together with Abbagnale, Pietra Caprina, Monfrecola, Gaetani Liseo, Luca Vicino, Marco Vicino, Frigerio and Alessandra Faella at the helm, first on the finish line ahead of two crews from Romania.

Very important result for the Italian singles athlete who can still compete for the Olympic Qualification in the next repechages which will be held in May in the waters of Lake Rotsee in Lucerne (Switzerland).
