La Spezia: The new edition of the “La Spezia Outdoor” event.
The 22 edition of the event will take place on 23 and 2023 April La Spezia Outdoor. After the success it achieved last year, the initiative organized by thePeracchini Administration and coordinated by the sports and tourism departments. It will be a program full of events, with a variety of sports disciplines, competitive and non-competitive competitions, but also an opportunity to rediscover the area through excursions in the city and in the hilly area. Over these two days, 35 operators will be involved and 25 activities are planned.
“Outdoor sport – declared the Mayor Pierluigi Peracchini – is accessible and practicable for everyone and, thanks to this type of activity, we promote physical exercise in the open air, pushing citizens to frequent the urban space more, bringing the well-being even outside the structures. This event is an opportunity for adults and children to meet enthusiasts of different disciplines and also engage with the competitive races that are scheduled."
“An event which once again – explains the sports councilor Marco Frascatore – will give citizens and others the opportunity to experience sport outdoors and at the same time try out all the various sports with a real-time experience in the magnificent context of our city and our territory, I thank all the many sports associations who, with their participation and availability, will encourage the approach to sports by allowing people from La Spezia to experience moments of aggregation and joy for their physical and emotional health."

The 2023 edition of Spezia Outdoor will be richer in events and experiential moments which will give everyone the opportunity to try their hand at sporting activities and at the same time get to know the city thanks to the numerous organized initiatives such as Nordic Walking, climbing, CAI ring routes, cycle tourism routes, mountain bike races, cultural guided tours and the Gulf Trail which will see our hilly arch overlooking the sea as the protagonist. I would like to thank the trade associations that once again supported us in organizing the event, the Proloco and all the sports clubs that took part. Today tourists ask us to spend time in the open air being able to experience emotions and La Spezia with its beauties to experience is able to offer them."
Piazza Europa it is the starting point of the numerous scheduled excursions and a village will be set up where meetings, information events, exhibitions will be held, but not only that: a whole series of activities will take place in other areas.
In recent years La Spezia has increasingly become a venue for sporting events. There are many national and international events that have taken place in the city thanks, also in this case, to the investments made in the structures and in particular in the "Mountain" Camp: a real green lung in the heart of the city, much frequented by citizens , where in this edition of the event the awards will be held on the afternoon of Sunday 23rd.
Since its inception, the Peracchini Administration has supported activities aimed at promoting and disseminating basic sports practice and culture and recreational activities, also exploiting them for tourism purposes. In fact, this event will also be an opportunity to visit some infrastructures that have been recovered, such as the Parco delle Mura and the Valdilocchi Battery, thanks to excursions and walks planned in those places.
