"La Fattoria In Città" returns to La Spezia with tastings, workshops for children, saddle baptism and educational activities to rediscover the countryside on November 24th.

La Spezia: “La Fattoria in Città” returns to Piazza Cavour.

Returns Sunday 24th November from 8:00 to 19:30 in Piazza Cavour, “La Fattoria in città”, one of the most anticipated and successful events in the agenda of events organized by the Municipality of La Spezia. A traditional event to learn about animals, savour the scents of the countryside and taste the genuine delicacies of our land.

The mayor of La Spezia Pierluigi Peracchini declares: "A much-anticipated and appreciated event for adults and children that offers the opportunity to participate in numerous educational activities and to taste specialties related to the world of agriculture. This event aims to raise awareness among citizens about respect for the environment and to promote greater awareness of environmental issues, all in a pleasant and engaging atmosphere. A heartfelt thanks to those who worked to organize the event, to the Associations and to all the exhibitors who contributed to the realization of the initiative."

The rich program also this year offers numerous activities such as: tasting of typical local products, cooking shows, presentations and above all numerous educational workshops dedicated to children, organised by the Coopselios/Fattoria del Carpanedo cooperatives, COCEA, the Civic Museums and the Urban Library System. All free events reserved for children to bring them closer to the world of nature, raise awareness of respect for the environment and show them animals up close. An event appreciated by adults and children alike, capable of making you know and savor the scents of the countryside by tasting some truly genuine delicacies from our land.

Born in 2006, the “farm in the city” has been enriched and grown year after year in terms of the number of exhibitors, visitors and initiatives presented, becoming an important attraction, not only for the people of La Spezia, but also for tourists. The Farm in the city was born with the aim of bringing the agricultural world closer to the urban one and of raising awareness among citizens, especially the youngest, on the issues of consumer education and respect for biodiversity.

On Sunday 24th, producers, trade associations and consortia will be present in Piazza Cavour, offering tastings and the sale of typical agricultural, food and artisanal products. Furthermore, the the long-awaited appointment with the baptism of the saddle during which children are given the opportunity to take a ride on a pony.

17,30 pm The balsamic vinegar from the Soc. Agricola “Monte Duro di Sassi Matteo e David di Montalto (RE) meets his majesty the mountain Parmigiano Reggiano from the Latteria Soc. Carnola di Castelnovo ne' Monti (RE) – tasting of the 40-month-aged Parmigiano paired with balsamic vinegar.

Free educational workshops for children

From 10.30 to 12.00 How this salt smells! We create our own flavoured salt using the farm's aromatic herbs! Recommended for children aged 2 and up. Booking on site.
10.30 and 11.30 Hands on: tagliatelle Let's become chefs and combine ingredients to create tagliatelle! Recommended for children aged 4 and up. Booking on site.
From 15.00:17.00 PM to 2:XNUMX PM Seed Bombs: We mix soil, clay and seeds and create our own seed bomb! Recommended for children aged XNUMX and up. Booking on site.
15.00:16.00 PM and 6:XNUMX PM “Nature in Miniature”: we use natural materials to create a scenario…in a box! Recommended for children aged XNUMX and up. Booking on site.

We will reproduce the Tondo depicting the Month and the Profession: December, where a farmer is portrayed in the act of breaking up the soil to prepare it for new crops, preserved at the “Amedeo Lia” Civic Museum, making the drawing with glue and coloured corn flour.
