“Decamerock”, a project by Massimo Cotto, journalist and voice of Virgin Radio, will be staged on Saturday 22 July at 21.30pm in Piazza Europa as part of the event La Spezia Summer Festival.
In the long night of rock there are endless stories to tell. Stories of rock and damnation, of death and beauty, parables that taste of destiny and magic, demons and madness. Stories often so absurd that they don't seem true, but simple literary invention. Massimo Cotto chooses ten of them and tells them how they once told stories in dimly lit rooms surrounded by strange air, in a mixture of humidity and smoke, or in barns after the harvest...
Next to him, Mauro Ermanno Giovanardi, a voice that sings and enchants, to add other stories, like a radio in the dark that draws suggestions. Apparently, “Decamerock” is just this: a show of stories and songs, of fairy tales, sometimes scary, other times poignant. But no. There is something more and different. Meanwhile, there is a ghost. A specter that haunts the stage. The specter of Nico, rock femme fatale, Andy Warhol's muse and voice of the Velvet Underground in one of the fundamental albums of the last century.
She, played by Chiara Buratti, is the link that binds the stories, the red thread that envelops every step of the plot with beauty and damnation, which unravels like a rosary: ​​inevitable. And there is another man, Francesco Santalucia, who plays and accompanies everyone's stories, who remains in the shadows because it is from there that he can illuminate every story.

Tickets are on sale at the Teatro Civico Box Office (entrance from via Carpenino), open from Monday to Saturday from 8.30am to 12.30pm (on Wednesdays also from 16pm to 19pm).
