La Spezia, 21st "Christmas Trophy" with the Palio del Golfo on Sunday 17 December.

La Spezia, on Sunday 17 December the traditional race will be held in the body of water in front of Passeggiata Morin CHRISTMAS TROPHY now in its 21st edition this year.

The Mayor of the city participates in the presentation Spezia Pierluigi Peracchini, the councilor for the Palio del Golfo Hon. Maria Grazia Frijia, the Mayor of Porto Venere Francesca Sturlese, the municipal councilor of Lerici with responsibility for Sport Massimo Carnasciali, the president of the Regional Council Gianmarco medusei, the President of the Borgate Committee Massimo Gianello, the representative of the Uisp rowing league Michele Delnevo, the provincial coordinator of Telethon Mara Biso.

Furthermore, ir. was present at the presentation press conferencerepresentatives of the Borgate, the Commander in II of the Port Authority of La Spezia Vittorio Giovannone, the Lieutenant Commander Simone Natale of the Northern Maritime Interregional Command of the Navy.

The event, desired by the people of the Palio to pay homage to the City and the Gulf of Poets on the occasion of the holidays, closes the year but is also an event that compares crews and coaches, perhaps to refine the strategies that will mark the upcoming rowing season. A season that already promises to bring some new features: the Borgate Committee has established changes to the Pre-Palio Provincial Championship by reducing the races from twelve to nine.

However, the collaborative relationship with the provincial committee is nothing new La Spezia Telethon. The initiative conceived for Christmas becomes, in fact, a permanent agreement, thus strengthening a bond between sport and solidarity dear to the Palio movement. On Sunday 17th a stall will be set up on the Morin where you can purchase solidarity products to support Telethon and each helmsman will wear the traditional t-shirt with the Foundation's colours. This will be the way to reiterate that united, each maintaining their own uniqueness and colours, we can all row in the same direction, just as we can contribute, all together, to research.

The mayor of La Spezia Pierluigi Peracchini He declares: “The Christmas Trophy is an important occasion in which the city can relive the emotions of the Palio del Golfo even during the Christmas period, and also continues a close bond with solidarity. The Christmas Trophy is a tradition that has continued for 21 editions, every year well attended, full of surprises and appreciated by citizens and tourists. An event that is part of a rich calendar of over 100 events including activities, shows, music and much more, thanks to which the city will be able to experience over a month of celebrations."

Crew registrations for the Christmas Trophy will close next Thursday. The races will take place with the usual program:
10.00 – Women's category race
10.45 – Junior category race
11.30 – Senior category race
