La Spezia, the “Ubaldo Mazzini” Civic Library and the Odeon Cinema involved in the Dantedì day with events open to the public.

On the occasion of March 25, the National Day dedicated to Dante Alighieri, the Peracchini Administration promoted, through the Cultural Services, a calendar of "Dantedì" initiatives involving the "Ubaldo Mazzini" Civic Library and the Cinema Odeon of the Ligurian Regional Media Library " Sergio Fregoso”.

On March 25th the “Ubaldo Mazzini” Civic Library celebrated Dante Alighieri by offering citizens a free exhibition-documentary itinerary illustrating his literary activity. From 9.15 am to 19.00 pm it was possible to visit an exhibition, set up for the occasion, with material taken from the book and manuscript collections preserved at Mazzini.

From 17.30 to 18.30, a reading moment was held in collaboration with the local LaAV club, during which selected excerpts from the works of Dante Alighieri were proposed. This event offered not only the opportunity to immerse oneself in the wonders of Dante's literature, but also to explore different interpretations and critical analyses. LaAV is a national association dedicated to reading aloud, non-profit, which is mainly committed to promoting reading for the most vulnerable groups of the community, including children and the elderly. LaAV also actively collaborates and offers support to various cultural activities, thus consolidating its role in the enrichment and inclusion of the local community.

The Odeon Cinema, however, proposed the docufilm "Wonderful Vision: Hell” by Matteo Gagliardi, an opportunity to continue celebrating the Supreme Poet and his work thanks to the power of cinema. The descent towards Dante's Inferno illustrates the meanings of the verses and allows us to retrace the same journey made by Dante. The images and narration transport us into this powerful cinematic transposition of the work of the Supreme Poet. Each circle of Hell is compared to modern society, thus offering a powerful x-ray of the evils that afflict the world today.

The documentary film was screened as a matinee aimed at local schools.
