Villa Monastery comes alive with one evening of music, dance and theatre. Sunday 23 July the pearl of Varenna opens his doors to tourists and visitors with the traveling show Two steps in the moonlight. Conceived and directed by Sara Battisti, with the School of Musical Original People of Bergamo, the show will enhance the Botanical Garden in its most beautiful corners, through artistic performances.
"We strongly desire to continue with the valorization not only of aesthetics, but also and above all of culture, with proposals that can lead to engaging and immersive experiences in the Botanical Garden and in the Villa – comment the President of the Province of Lecco Alessandra Hofmann and the Provincial Councilor delegated to Culture and Cultural heritage, Tourism, Villa Monastero Fiorenza Albani – We propose this original and evocative show, with a series of performances that will take place simultaneously and will be repeated several times during the evening to give visitors the opportunity to attend each of them. Once inside the garden, the artists will accompany the spectators, divided into small groups, to the various stations".
Four stations for a traveling show
From 17.00pm to 21.00pm it will be possible to attend performances by dancers, actors and musicians in four different locations:
1. Near the neoclassical temple the dance and violin show will be staged "The moon and the stars“. The beauties of the Botanical Garden will be enhanced by the sounds and movements of the artists, for a performance with mysterious and dreamlike atmospheres.
2. A few steps from the temple, the artists of the Musical Original People School will propose the contemporary and aerial dance show "The nymphs of the woods“. To the music of violinist Lindsey Stirling, pianist Ludovico Einaudi and composer Philip Glass, dancers and actors will perform with costumes and scenographic make-up, always inspired by the naturalistic context.
3. In the lakeside loggia area space for the Celtic notes of the Locomotive Band. Spectators will experience the evocative atmosphere created by the music inspired by the famous fantasy trilogy "The Lord of the Rings" by Tolkien.
4. 'Symphony of the Spheres” is the dance theater show that will warm you up the area above the dock. In collaboration with Arhat Teatro and directed by Pierluigi Castelli and Sara Battisti, the representation will see the artists engaged in an engaging performance based on the tragedy "Salome" by Oscar Wilde. The themed costumes and music by Mike Oldfield will make the show even more captivating.
