On 15 and 16 April, Piazza Dante and Piazza Duomo will be colored with hundreds of plants and flowers, giving life to an immense flower garden. The proceeds collected from their sale will be used to purchase tools and software to be donated to the Radiotherapy operating unit of the Misericordia Hospital to reduce the side effects of the treatment, worth 54 thousand euros.

Starting from this year and for all future editions the event will be dedicated to Enrica Tognazzi, president of the Association for 17 years. Not only for this reason will the 2023 edition be a memorable one, but also because we will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Association, founded in 1983 when a group of volunteers decided to raise funds for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer in Grosseto. In 40 years, more than 5 million euros have been donated in structures, machinery, projects and scholarships.

“Once again we thank the Committee for Life, which confirms its constant commitment to supporting the Misericordia Hospital and cancer patients – comment the mayor Antonfrancesco Vivarelli Colonna and the councilor for Social Affairs, Sara Minozzi – This donation will allow us a further improvement steps from an oncological therapeutic perspective. We will never stop heartily thanking the Association's volunteers for this generous gesture and for the time and commitment they have dedicated to supporting the community for 40 years. If spring is the season of rebirth, let's try to make solidarity flourish again thanks to the love and generosity of the Maremma people".

“40 years of activity represents an exceptional achievement – states the president of the Committee for Life, Oreste Menchetti – made possible thanks to the passion of the presidents, the members of the Board of Directors, but also and above all by the enthusiasm of the Grosseto people. This is why today we can say that the Committee for Life is all of us! Behind all the plaques that commemorate the association's contribution to the Misericordia Hospital there are the names and stories of the men and women who for 40 years have donated, committed themselves and received treatment thanks also to the Committee for Life".
