Grosseto, the living statues tell of family custody.

A day at the museum to learn about the foster care center: this is the initiative promoted by City of Grosseto and from Cohesive Health Society, to celebrate 40 years since reads 184 who established it, the 4 may 1983.

For the occasion the Maremma archaeological and art museum welcomed almost 100 students from the municipal area involved in an alternative museum tour, where they were able to learn more family custody through the voice of 9 "living statues": foster families, young people in foster care and operators of the Coeso Società della Salute.

«The initiative was born with the desire to promote a form of free love - comments Tania Barbi, director of Coeso SdS –. Thanks to family foster care, you open the doors of your home and family to a minor who is temporarily in difficulty, providing concrete help for his or her harmonious growth.».

Anyone can express their availability to welcome a minor in family foster care by contacting the Coeso SdS foster care center. At the moment, there are 26 children and young people in foster care. Of these, 22 are assignments established by the judicial authority and 4 are consensual; 24 are full-time, and therefore require the minor to live with foster carers, while 2 are part-time, meaning they happen for a few hours a day or a week.

Of the children in foster care, 10 are between 15 and 17 years old, 8 are between 11 and 14 years old, 4 are between 6 and 10 years old and 4 are less than 5 years old.
