Grosseto: “Daughters of time”, an exhibition dedicated to the women of Maremma.
Sunday March 5, at Archaeological and Art Museum of Maremma, the event will take place “Daughters of Time”, an exhibition aimed at celebrate the Maremma and the beauty of women in Roman times, set up in the Hall of Statues.
The exhibition will be open until Monday 10 April and will feature the works of the Maremma artist and teacher Pietro Corridori which stages a representation of the figure of women in the ancient Roman world: the face of the Goddess Minerva will open the series of engravings. The gazes of the women of the ancient city of Roselle, fixed by the painter in the tables created specifically by engraving the zinc plate and contaminating the languages and various graphic pictorial techniques, will have the aim of creating a link between ancient memories and contemporary artistic research from a pop perspective.
The exhibition – curated by Pietro Corridori and Chiara Valdambrini, with an introduction by Marcella Parisi – was created with the support of the Grosseto proloco, the Galleria Eventi, the Fattoria Le Pupille and the Polo Bianciardi.
“We are happy to approve this very particular initiative, which aims to highlight and unite, at the same time, the beauty and history of our land – declare the mayor Antonfrancesco Vivarelli Colonna and the councilor for Culture Luca Agresti – The exhibition it will begin in the month dedicated to women and they will be the protagonists."
The program on March 5, 2023 includes a ribbon cutting and a guided tour with the curators at 17 pm followed by a wine tasting organized by Fattoria Le Pupille.
