Florence, the 26th edition of the "Carnival of the Figli di Bocco" of Castiglion Fibocchi presented.

Il “Carnival of the Sons of Bocco” celebrates its 26th edition by presenting the program at Palazzo del Pegaso, in the Sassoli Media Center, in the presence of the President of the Regional Council Antonio Mazzeo and the vice president Marco Casucci. With them the mayor of Castiglion Fibocchi (AR) Marco Ermini, the councilor for territorial development and promotion Eduardo Ferrini and a representation of the Castiglion Fibocchi Carnival association, led by the artistic director Simonetta Valeri.

«Every time our territories offer us their best traditions, the Regional Council willingly opens its doors - Said Antonio Mazzeo president of the Tuscan Assembly – and, in this case, we celebrate the mastery of local artisans who manage to create unique masks in the name of a small community that gathers around the centuries-old tradition of its carnival. This year the event is dedicated to the great artist Il Perugino, 500 years after his death, and it is a tradition that continues in the name of innovation and celebration. I invite all Tuscan citizens to go in person to Castiglion Fibocchi and take the opportunity of the carnival to visit one of the most beautiful villages in our Tuscany».

The Carnival of the Sons of Bocco, dedicated this year to Pietro Vannucci, known as Perugino, 500 years after his death, will experience four days full of events with the streets of Castiglion Fibocchi, in the province of Arezzo, animated by the characteristic baroque masks. It starts on Saturday 4 February with "Waiting for the Sons of Bocco" and continues on Sunday 5 and Saturday 11, with the closing scheduled for Sunday 12 February with the traditional Royal Procession which will travel through the streets of the historic center of the Tuscan municipality.
