Brescia, Cosmogarden kicks off. The event dedicated to gardening and outdoor furnishings is scheduled from 5 to 8 April at the Brixia Forum.

A sector with important numbers, which also contributes to implementing initiatives capable of profitably combining the environment and people's quality of life. This is the photograph, relating to the gardening and furnishing sector, taken by the Lombardy Region Councilor for the Environment Giorgio Maione, speaking on the inaugural day of the third edition of Cosmogarden, the fair dedicated to the world of green scheduled in Brescia until April 8th.

SECTOR WITH IMPORTANT NUMBERS IN LOMBARDIA

Maione highlighted in particular the positive data that the sector records in Lombardy thanks to the presence of around 7.000 companies with a turnover of 276 million euros, an increase of 11% compared to previous years.

"These are very important and extremely relevant numbers - underlined the councilor - which means that, with support for businesses and the entire sector, it is possible to implement environmental policies that are also closely linked to the quality of life, because our health benefits from taking care of green".

IN LOMBARDIA MORE AND MORE TREES

Then speaking about the forests and woods of Lombardy, Maione highlighted how at the moment the region can boast an extremely high number of trees planted, never recorded before. “What we are doing – Maione specified – is very important work, which will allow us to shortly reach the standards that Europe asks of us”.

THE 'GREEN BELT' PROJECT TO SUPPORT PLANTING

Fabio Losio, President of ERSAF Lombardia, also addressed the topic of the health of Lombardy woods and forests. “Today – he explained – we are present at the fair with the Green Belt project to support planting by private individuals. As Ersaf we manage a regional nursery in the municipality of Bergamo where we produce around 500.000 plants, and 76 essences distributed throughout the Lombardy region and produced with seeds collected by our forestry employees within the region".

The EVENT PROGRAM

The program of the event includes conferences, seminars, workshops, demonstrations, courses and workshops held by highly qualified university professors, researchers and speakers. The over 60 events will address issues ranging from the correct management of gardens (including historic ones), to the importance of protecting water and caring for the animals that live in the greenery, such as bees.
