Chieti, technological grandparents, delivery ceremony of the new diplomas.

With the ceremony of last December 14th, hosted by Gonzaga High School, the three-month course has ended for the students who attended the course in the historic center of Chieti and in Chieti Scalo, at the Gonzaga and in the premises of the Boncontro library, becoming in effect Technological Grandparents. Present at the official delivery with the mayor were the mayor Diego Ferrara, the deputy mayor Paolo de Cesare and the councilor Manuel Pantalone and Mario Bisceglie of the association Mondo Digitale, engine of the courses.

Chieti, nonni tecnologici, cerimonia di consegna dei nuovi diplomi.

“A process that lasted a year and which made it possible to offer complete training to around 300 citizens over 60 comes to an end – said Mayor Diego Ferrara at the delivery ceremony -. The Ministry of the Interior has made a small fund available to provincial capitals for initiatives aimed at senior citizens, initiatives aimed at improving their safety but leaving local authorities with the task of implementing valid projects. The Municipality of Chieti entered into this scenario and jumped at this opportunity thanks to the former councilor for social policies Mara Maretti, who stood out throughout Italy for having organized something truly unique and useful, given both the participation found at every course sold out due to attendance, and due to the request to recover the many requests that remained unanswered, which pushed us to confirm and promote other courses. An initiative of great social and human value, thanks also to the great empathy of our senior teacher, Mario Bisceglie, who taught defense tactics and techniques useful for surfing the web, as well as being the driving force behind increasingly important digital literacy and necessary for everyone and at any age”.

“The Municipality of Chieti welcomed our project as a cultural association Digital World – adds Mario Bisceglie -, perfected it and sent it to the Prefecture, which expressed a favorable opinion and allowed us to do more cycles and celebrate the new conclusion of an intense year of studies. I thank the Municipality for choosing the project, the Prefecture, the Gonzaga High School for having granted a perfect classroom, Chieti Solidale for having granted the Boncontro Library, the municipal manager Angela Falcone and the official Rosanna Rossetti because they allowed us to support such a commitment long and important. And thanks also to former councilor Mara Maretti who intercepted this ministerial possibility, making it concrete. Thanks to Mayor Diego Ferrara for coordinating the entire project, making his closeness felt to all members, with constant presence and giving them all a certificate, smiles and words of wisdom. In the wake of the great enthusiasm generated by the initiative, they will be held new courses starting from January 2024".
