Chieti: The Maggio Teatino starts, concert by Anna Tatangelo for the feast of San Giustino.
At the start the new edition of the May Teatino with the concert of Anna Tatangelo, on the occasion of the celebration of Saint Justin. This morning the presentation conference was held with the deputy mayor and councilor for Events, Paolo De Cesare, the councilor for Commerce Manuel Pantalone and in the presence of the councilors Valerio Giannini and Vincenzo Ginefra.
“We are going through a very difficult moment from an economic point of view which does not depend on us, but on an inherited situation, despite this, we have managed to guarantee the city a cultural animation capable of guaranteeing life and economy” so the deputy mayor and councilor for events Paolo De Cesare continued:
“The Maggio Teatino is an iconic event that gives space and voice to the Teatino associations that as a Municipality we support with services, spaces and logistics and to which we extend our thanks because their initiatives enliven our city, just as we thank the mayor for having supported this need. The first event is the Anna Tatangelo concert scheduled for Thursday 11 May, on the occasion of the celebrations of the Patron Saint and which could be postponed if the weather forecast does not allow the evening to take place. An important event that needed to be celebrated in a dignified manner, guaranteeing quality entertainment and which does not burden the organisation's budget, thanks to a sponsorship agreement with the Megalò shopping center consortium. We will have in Chieti, at the Villa Comunale, a famous artist on the national musical scene, a concert built amidst a thousand difficulties which required more time and to which must be added the unknowns linked to the weather, because the forecast is not good for the next few days. Thanks to the work done we guarantee the Maggio Teatino with one hundred events and the concert, but the program is really rich. Thanks to the associations who, with our support, have composed the calendar of events that the Municipality is honored to sponsor and which will make it possible for the city to host exhibitions, concerts, theatre, small and large events, including: the Night City of Chieti, Premio Prisco, the event with the Teatini Winemakers, Chieti Classica, the Palio de lu Ricchiappe, the Infiorata, the second Gran Criterium Vetturette, the lectio by Paolo Crepet, to name a few. All in view of the summer program that we are putting together in recent weeks."
“The billboard and the concert are the best response to the criticism received from some opposition voices – so the councilor for Commerce Manuel Pantalone – Among the events there are also some sporting events that enrich it and a Street Food review, buskers and collateral events, which will bring movement and which will go in synergy with initiatives that will also concern street trading. The response to the Maggio Teatino announcement has been extraordinary, we have over one hundred events until June 17th, which will take place despite many inherited economic difficulties. We want to continue to generate economies that act as the lifeblood of a positive fabric for the city, what counts is the result and the quality that this administration continues to ensure".
“The difficulties are many more than we thought, we had to fight against a lot, but these are necessary efforts to stay close to the commercial sector – so the councilor Valerio Giannini – and also to the community, which is emerging from the energy crisis, inflation and pandemic, thanks also to the cultural associations that responded and created synergy with the Municipality".
“There are many difficulties, having obtained an important name to also celebrate the civil holiday of the Patron Saint is a positive result for the city – concludes the councilor Vincenzo Ginefra – which summarizes the work of the Administration, the structure and the many associations that responded".
