Catania: Retablo's “Dreamaturgy Zone” project nears completion.

Catania, The final week of begins “Dreamaturgy Zone: De-Mo 2023 (Democracy & Electronic Movement) – Immersive Augmented Civilization Experiences”, the artistic-cultural project created by Retablo company, which is part of the programming of “Catania stage. Beauty without borders” of the Municipality of Catania.

This initiative, which promotes research into advanced forms of democratic participation through the creative use of digital technologies and performing arts, involves neighborhoods Librino, Antico Corso and Tondicello della Plaja, it will end Sunday 1 October. The first part of the project has foreseen 3 laboratories, while, in the second part of De-Mo 2023 they are scheduled 4 theater shows, which will start from Tuesday 26 September.

Here is the detail of the events:

-The maze (Argine Theater Company): from 26 to 29 September at 17.30 pm in Librino, in the spaces of the Istituto Omnicomprensivo Angelo Musco. Innovative, immersive, itinerant, this is a show that exceeds the traditional theatrical enjoyment, experimenting with a new language that combines theatre, cinema, virtual reality and gaming.
14 visual and sound experiences which tell just as many stories of forgotten adolescence, thanks also to dozens of interviews with local bodies and associations that deal with boys and girls in a state of discomfort or danger.

Every spectator is equipped with a viewer, a special device that projects the wearer into a scenario so realistic that it seems real. Immersed in one virtual reality, the public will be able to look around 360 ° explore different places, interact differently with things and people. Without ever leaving a real space 7×7 meters, in virtual reality the viewer will move through a maze of corridors and rooms to discover the 14 stories of Il Labirinto.

The Labyrinth is therefore a traveling show where the public he will walk and stand for about 50 minutes.

-SEPHIROT®: Marino (Compagnia Chrones.) il 26 and 27 September at 19pm at Via del Principe, 20 (Tondello della Plaja). SEPHIROT® is a creation system of interactive performances in which audience and performers change the course of history in real time. The Scenario we propose is Marino, a hyper dramaturgy original written by Alessandro Anglani, which has two protagonists – GILDA and LUISA, 4 different endings and 10 scenes, For a total of 59 possible narratives different. During the performance interaction scenes, some locations in the space will be sensitive to software monitoring Double play, developed in collaboration with University of Turin. If an audience member occupies that location, she will support or hinder a given character, allowing for spatial interaction with the narrative. The topics addressed will be multiple and complex: female emancipation, sex working, emotional addictions, gender identity, sexual orientation, gender transition, leading to question the very concept of family and love.

-Speakers' Corners (Argine Theater Company): Saturday 30 September in Piazza Università at 12.00. The flash mob that concludes the Political Poetic laboratory made in Catania, an active citizenship laboratory to imagine a better city organized by the Teatro dell'Argine and conducted by Micaela Casalboni and Andrea Paolucci.

The group of young and very young participants will peacefully invade the city to tell their fellow citizens what do they dream for Librino, their neighborhood: what they love, what they would like to change, what contribution each of them can make to this change and starting from what concrete acts. They will do it through acollective tions and small monologues, stories and games. Following the idea that the possibility of changing the world comes from the need to change one's territory.

-Tifeo. The Betrayal of the Ear (Compagnia Retablo): dramaturgy, interpretation and direction by Turi Zinna and Federico Magnano San Lio, will go on stage Sunday 1 October at 21pm in Via del Principe n. 00.
