Campobasso, the European Week for Waste Reduction continues.
The appointments continue European Week for Waste Reduction. On Thursday 24th November, 18.15, at the BiblioMediaTeca Municipal building in via Roma, a new appointment in the exhibition “Living with care”. The topic on the agenda, “The dark side of fashion – who pays the real price of our clothes?”, fully takes up the theme of SERR2022, i.e. that of waste deriving from the world of fashion and the textile sector.
By the Prof. Alessia Di Maggio, a focus will be made on all the environmental and social problems arising from the so-called “Fast fashion”, or disposable fashion, produced in most cases in areas of the planet where workers' rights and environmental protection are completely ignored subjects.
The meeting therefore aims to increase the level of knowledge and awareness so that our consumer choices can also be oriented towards more sustainable products.
“Always tomorrow – he says the Environment councilor Simone Cretella – will be present in the city, in Piazza Municipio, an information point organized by Coop. RAU (Collection of Used Clothes), manager of the service in the city, will take action to inform and raise awareness among citizens of the importance of correct disposal of used clothes which, if removed from landfill, can fuel virtuous circuits of reuse and recycling of materials, with a view to the circular economy" .
