Eggs from AIL research against leukemia are on sale in the shops in the center of Cagliari

“Inside an AIL Easter Egg there is much more than a simple surprise. There is support for research and for over 221 scientific studies every year, the funding of scholarships for young researchers and 136 Hematology Centers throughout Italy. There are the dreams of thousands of patients that you can help us make real."

To make our own the words chosen and printed on the website of the Italian Association against Leukemia, Lymphoma and Miloma, but above all the message of hope of the charity initiative "Easter Eggs 2021" which will be held in Cagliari throughout the month of March 2021, also the councilor Alessandro Sorgia.

“Anyone can already contribute to the fundraising by going to one of the 55 participating shops in the streets of the center and with a contribution of 12 euros they will be entitled to an Easter egg and a pack of Sardinian malloreddus”, explained the representative of the Executive citizen, owner of productive activities meeting journalists.

And so on this occasion too, the Municipality takes action for the most vulnerable people, alongside the Cagliari traders. “To them – concluded Sorgia – my most sincere thanks for the maturity they have always been able to demonstrate, even in the most difficult moments, like the one we are going through”.

The traders therefore become AIL volunteers themselves and promoters of this solidarity collection against leukemia, with the slogan "never give up". “The same thing that Claudio Deiana, the young referee from Cagliari who died after a long fight against the disease at not even 30 years of age, used to repeat,” recalled Stefano Rolla in his dual role as trader and president of the Strada Fare association. And with him Paolo Angius.

At the meeting this morning on Friday 19 March 2021 in via Garibaldi, also Renzo Pili, doctor and AIL Sud Sardegna volunteer, who outlined the activities that the association is carrying out at national and local level to finance research. And among the numerous other initiatives, to create reception homes designed to accommodate non-resident patients who have to face long periods of treatment, assisted by their family members, organize the home care service, create schools and playrooms in the hospital, support the training and updating of doctors, biologists, nurses and laboratory technicians.
