Brescia, here are the summer centers and nursery schools to support families
Brescia - Based on the recent legislation (Dpcm 11.06.2020 and subsequent Ordinance of the Lombardy Region 566 of 12.06.2020) it is also possible to reactivate childcare services intended for children aged 0 to 3 years. The Municipality of Brescia promptly organized services also for this delicate age group, with an offer that is characterized by an important educational value for the little ones who will be able to find socialization contexts with peers and as a precious support for families where both parents work. The summer centers of the municipal nursery schools will be activated in July. In particular, there will be 5 open services, distributed in the different areas
one of the city, for a total of 240 places available, 120 for each shift. The locations are: ➓ for the north area NIDO GIRASOLE (25 places, in particular open to children enrolled in the Girasole and Abbraccio nurseries) ➓ for the west area NIDO GIOSTRA (25 places, for children enrolled in the Giostra and Mondo del Colore nurseries) ➓ for the southern area NIDO PRIMAVERA (25 places, for children enrolled in the Primavera and Scoiattolo nurseries) ➓ for the central area NIDO GIROTONDO (20 places, for children enrolled in the Girotondo, Abbraccio and Pollicino nurseries) ➓ for the eastern area/ south RAINBOW NEST (25 places, for children from the Arcobaleno, Cucciolo and Sole nurseries) The service will be active from 6 to 31 July, with two shifts of two weeks each, the duration of which guarantees continuity for the children on the one hand, on the The other is necessary to comply with the requirement of group stability, required by the legislation on virus prevention. The service will be managed by the Municipality's educational staff, through the training of small groups of 5 children each, with a permanent educator. In the case of children with disabilities, a 1:1 ratio will be guaranteed.
METHOD OF REGISTRATION Registrations are open from June 24th to June 28th. Notice of the start of the service has been sent to all families with a child enrolled in the nursery in the wevezzi sections, to which the registration form has been attached which will be returned via email to the competent office (iscrive.nidi@comune.brescia. it). The cost for families will be modulated based on the ISEE and may vary from a minimum of 90 euros for each shift to a maximum of 190 euros.
Access to the service will be regulated by a ranking drawn up according to the nursery admission scores. Enrollment in the summer center is reserved for children enrolled in the weaning sections. Families can apply for both shifts, but only in the case of free places will they be given the opportunity to attend more than one shift. Several nurseries affiliated with the Municipality have also taken steps to reopen their services in the coming summer weeks: each managing body intending to activate a summer center has developed an organizational project consistent with the characteristics of the users and the type of spaces available, guaranteeing maximum respect for the prevention principles dictated by the Covid-19 emergency. The Municipality therefore decided to also support the proposals for summer services for the 0-3 year age group coming from affiliated private early childhood education facilities. Interested parents are invited to contact the individual nurseries directly for further information and specific registration methods.
THE EDUCATIONAL PROPOSAL At the municipal nursery summer centre, particular importance will be given to the experience lived in the open air in the gardens with which all the structures are equipped, according to the long-adopted perspective of outdoor education. The wealth of stimuli offered by the natural environment allows children to experiment with autonomous and free action, even more valuable after the long period of limitation within the home. As always at the nursery, the summer center will also give space to children's natural propensity for experimentation, discovery and socialising. Outdoor activities will be accompanied when necessary by those in the section spaces with the possibility of narration, specific guided activities and play corners: the corners and materials have been renewed and reorganized on the basis of safety indications and continuous sanitization of the environments. Specific attention will be given to the stability of the small group of children and the continuity of the educational figure of reference, for the well-being of the children and according to the indications of the legislation. The stability of the small group responds both to the needs of relationships and emotional security of the little ones, and to the need to contain the risk of contagion, in the awareness that the little ones of this age interact with others above all through the body and therefore physical distancing cannot be guaranteed. It is worth underlining that in reactivating such a delicate service, such as that of the care of children up to 3 years old, co-responsibility on the part of families will certainly be necessary, with a view to collaboration and mutual understanding. The children return to the nursery after a long time and will be welcomed in a new situation compared to the nursery they had known: the educational proposal has been reinvented on the basis of the safety and health protection regulations of the little ones, their families and everyone the adults who will take care of them in different roles.
THE TIMES OF THE DAY AT NURSERY The day at the summer center begins with a time dedicated to reception and "triage" for safety, with arrivals staggered from 8.00 to 9.00. The morning continues with a fresh fruit snack, ample time dedicated to playing, favoring outdoor activities, lunch at 11.30, moments of hygiene before and after the meal. The children's outing is scheduled from 13.30pm to 14.00pm. On the first day of each shift there is a settling-in period in which the presence of the parent is required for the first hours of the morning.
SPECIFIC RULES OF CONDUCT Since these are in fact mini-sections of nursery, therefore with boys and girls in the 12-36 month age range, it is not possible to practice social distancing and therefore there is a residual COVID19 risk relating to the exposure of children to contagion from any viruses circulated in the mini-section itself and this risk cannot be eliminated in the current phase 2 of the pandemic. The logic followed in the organization of the proposal, consistent with current regulations, is to consider the mini-groups of children, together with the reference educator, the so-called "social bubble" which reproduces a sort of family community, ensuring not to promote activities that involve contact between the different mini-groups of children in which the summer service is organised. The delicacy that characterizes this age group requires the adoption of particularly careful measures, both in compliance with health regulations and attention to the educational quality of the proposal. Parents will be asked to complete a self-certification on a daily basis regarding their state of health and any risk elements. There will be a specific reception triage in the outdoor spaces and parents will not be able to have access to the nursery areas. All the necessary information will be the subject of a specific co-responsibility agreement signed by the families at the time of registration.
