Brescia, 8th edition of Open up, for a city open to differences and against all intolerance
Brescia, Wednesday 22 July, in the courtyard of Palazzo Broletto (in case of bad weather in the IDRA Theater Space at MO.CA – Center for New Cultures in via Moretto 78) the eighth edition of “Open up”, the festival of the city open to differences, against all intolerance, entitled this year “Encroachments. From differences to similarities” and included in the calendar of “Brescia in summer – Live emotions”, the program of events organized by the Municipality of Brescia.
The festival opens at 18.15pm with the presentation of the book “Masculinity and educational care. Counter-narratives for an (another) possible world”, written by Cristiana Ottaviano and Greta Persico, a volume that reports on research that explored male presence/absence in early childhood services, through the biographies of male educators and teachers. The author Cristiana Ottaviano, professor at the University of Bergamo, will be present and will discuss the topics covered in the volume with Roberto Cammarata, president of the City Council of Brescia, and with Marco Maffi, manager of educational services for children.
The concert-conference "Tenderness and violence in the male" is scheduled for 21pm, an event organized by Alilò Futuro Anteriore. Alessandro Adami (vocals and guitar), Carlo Gorio (guitar), Stefano Zeni (violin) and Maurizio Giannone (percussion) will perform songs by Fabrizio De André and other Italian singer-songwriters. Poems and literary texts will be edited by Cristiana Ottaviano.
Both appointments are free.
In compliance with the anti-covid regulations, the public is invited to bring and wear a mask, to maintain a safe distance of one meter from other people, to show up punctually at the start of the event, not to create gatherings and to leave the building as soon as the show is over.
