There formation brings the lively and engaging sounds of American music to the stage fifties-sixties. Swing, rock and roll and rhythm and blues come to life through the compositions of the bands that contributed to the fame of this genre: from the Coasters to Dion & the Belmonts, from the Diamonds to The Cleftones, through The Beach Boys, The Platters, up to The Cadillacs and many others. However, The Frigidaires are not just a cover band: their albums and concerts alternate well-known songs with original compositions and adapted classics of the genre, often chosen above all for their incisive lyrics which are translated into Italian.
Saturday 22 July the usual appointment with the Teatro del Pratello: we start at 20.30 with the presentation of the book Visioni di lavoro (ed. Edimill, Bologna) edited by the authors Gian Guido Balandi and Filippo Milani, born from the PON-METRO LAICI TEATRI project which in 2020-2021 involved heterogeneous groups of citizens in writing, photography, theater and video courses on the theme of Work. To follow it show Working and wandering. A Pinocchio lesson, old reformatory teacher, born from the theatrical project of the Teatro del Pratello company created with the children in charge of Juvenile Justice, students and citizens, dedicated to the theme of work and the daily balance between respect for duty and the desire for leisure; the dramaturgy is by Paolo Billi, while the direction is by Elvio Pereira De Assunçao and Viviana Venga Through a game of references and quotes from Collodi, De Amicis and Russell, it is said story of Master Pinocchio, an old reformatory teacher, who tries in vain to explain to the class that the pleasure of wandering is as necessary to life as working. TO difference from the traditional fairy tale, here are the young students to claim the importance of work above all else, while Pinocchio, now an adult and wise, invites us to find a balance between moments of pure wandering and others of commitment and work. However, he will not be listened to: the class will come to try the teacher, guilty of not being a champion of sound principles.
