Benevento: the twinning between the Campania city and the French city of Benévént L'Abbaye begins
The official ceremony to celebrate the twinning between Benevento and the French city of Benévént L'Abbaye will be held on Saturday 1 April at 10am, at the Teatro Comunale in Corso Garibaldi.

Il mayor of Benevento Clemente Mastella will welcome one delegation coming from French led by its transalpine counterpart André Mavigner who will be accompanied by municipal administrators and a delegation from the University of Limoges.
Il twinning celebrate it historical link between the two cities which dates back to the early medieval era. Benévént L'Abbaye owes his name right at Samnite capital, from where a relic of San Bartolomeo arrived from Benevento, in 1105, in a monastery that had been founded in 1028. Since then a history of centuries-old affinities including that between the Strega liqueur and the French 'La Beneventine' which have practically identical flavors.

9 am – Palazzo Mosti, official greeting from the Mayor of Benevento to the Mayor of Benèvent L'Abbaye
10 am – Municipal Theater – Official Twinning Ceremony in the presence of civil, religious and military authorities
13 pm – visit to the monumental complex of Santa Sofia
13pm – lunch
16 pm – Arcos Museum, exhibition inauguration
19 pm – visit to the “WITCH SPACE”
20 pm – aperitif at the “Strega Alberti” factory
• Sunday April 2
10:00 am – visit to the Church of San Bartolomeo
11:00 am – mass at the Cathedral
12 pm – departure for Pietrelcina/reception in the Municipality
13 pm – lunch in the farmhouse
15pm – visit to Padre Pio's house
21 pm – dinner and farewell.
