“Belliniana – Homage to the Swan of Catania” the exhibition dedicated to Vincenzo Bellini, from 14 to 28 September between Catania, Messina and Palermo
Strongly desired by the regional government and entrusted to the conductor Gianna Fratta, Belliniana – Homage to the Swan of Catania (previously called "Bellini International Context") is realized thanks to the collaboration of the cities of Catania, Messina and Palermo and the most important cultural institutions of the island.
“Belliniana – Homage to the Swan of Catania” the exhibition dedicated to Vincenzo Bellini, from 14 to 28 September between Catania, Messina and Palermo.
Is called "Belliniana – Homage to the Swan of Catania” the fourth edition of the event directly promoted and organized by the Department of Tourism, Sport and Entertainment of the Sicilian Region which will take place mainly in the capital city of Etna and in Messina from next September 14th to 28th, with a full series of events (free entry upon reservation) dedicated to Vincenzo Bellini: we will begin on Saturday 14 September with a great concert at Villa Bellini in Catania with the soprano Desirée Rancatore, the tenor Vittorio Grigolo and the Sicilian Symphony Orchestra conducted by Gianluca Marcianò, to then continue with another 16 events including symphonic concerts, chamber music, conversations, sacred music, theater, dance, new creations and great repertoire; at the center an opera in the form of a concert at the Teatro Bellini in Catania conducted by Fabrizio Maria Carminati.

«The Belliniana – underlines the artistic coordinator Gianna Fratta – in the wake of the events dedicated to Bellini to which the Sicilian Region and the Department of Tourism, Sport and Entertainment have always reserved the utmost attention, aims to be a large cultural container dedicated to the Swan of Catania, ready to artistically welcome not only the music of Bellini, which represents the core of the program, but also the works of contemporary composers, simultaneously giving impetus to contemporary compositions dedicated to or inspired by him. Not just music at Belliniana, also theatre, dance, conversations, meetings. With a view to concretely spreading Bellini's work also among the younger generations, the festival ranges both within artistic languages and within genres and forms: from classical music to jazz, from opera to galas, from recitals to symphonic programs, from sacred to popular music, for a festival that becomes a strategic opportunity for artistic and cultural promotion under the sign of the Swan of Catania».
