Arezzo: Esserci, the social support project of the Era Association.

The experience of is repeated again this year BE THERE, the social support project promoted by the Era Association in collaboration with Scuderia di Pan and Associazione Crescere and with the support of the Municipality of Arezzo, Estra and Coingas. A project that is in continuity with the support actions already carried out in the Arezzo area, in the context of taking charge of the needs of the weakest sections of the population, specifically adolescents with psychosocial risks and with disabilities of various kinds, but also the target of immigrant children and families.

“I am very proud that this project continues and I am also satisfied that it is now part of a consolidated educational project. The Municipality's contribution allows us to support, together with the other partners, six months of recreational courses conceived and designed in a personalized way and capable of developing true autonomy. Thanks to the operators and families who, by meeting, codified an inclusive "educational package" based on competence and professionalism", commented the deputy mayor Lucia Tanti.

“In the previous three summer years, recreational-sports project activities were carried out in order to counteract the negative effects resulting from the pandemic emergency, risks associated with the exposure of traumatic events linked to the war in Ukraine, promoting the prevention of behavioral risks. Through a specific social survey, the positive effects of the organized activities on the children's emotionality were measured. The current project sees its evolution of updating in the emergency context originating due to social changes and has the objective of representing a tool for prevention but also for sustainable continuity towards the possible and expected consequences on multiple levels that can affect the community, particularly the new generations,” explained Dr. Elisa Marcheselli, president of the Era Association.

The project will take place in two phases: the first from June to December and the second from January onwards the organization of solar camps, after-school activities and extra-curricular workshops, aimed at children and adolescents between 10 and 18 years of age, both able-bodied and disabled, foreigners and otherwise, with the objective of giving young people and their families more adequate answers to their needs by expanding the training offer intended for them.

- goals of BEING there concern social inclusion and the creation of activities that allow young people to interact, discover new cultures and develop new social skills, the promotion and development of physical and sporting motor activity of young people, including those with disabilities, the creation of community centers broader than the curricular reality, the guarantee and development of the socialization of young people and their families who participate in extracurricular sporting activities, the consolidation in children of the habit of sporting activity as a factor of civil and social growth and the organization of complementary activities cultural and recreational activities aimed at the integration and global growth of the person.
