Arezzo, night outing of the Maggiolata Lucignanese
Beautiful Maggiolata at night. And Lucignano writes to Jeff Koons
Arezzo, first night outing of the Maggiolata Lucignanese.
Maggiolata at night, if possible, even more evocative: the four floats that reproduce some of the works of Master Jeff Koons, illuminated in their floral magnificence, aroused wonder among the large audience.
Among those present, the Prefect of Arezzo Maddalena De Luca and the commander of the Carabinieri Company of Cortona, Captain Antonio De Santis, who welcomed the invitation of the mayor of Lucignano last night, Roberta Casini.
“A wonderfully preserved town – declared De Luca – an event which I attended with curiosity for the first time, remaining particularly involved. Lucignano perfectly represents the beauty of our territory and here I was able to see a truly uncommon cohesion and unity of purpose among the citizens which allows the achievement of great results".
The evening was characterized by the parade and the performance in Piazza delle Logge di Bande, of folk groups and of the four floats, whose passage was marked by warm applause of admiration.
“Even more beautiful at night”, is the generalized opinion about wagons: “Balloon dog”, the balloon dog of Porta San Giusto, “Sacred heart”, the great Sacred Heart wrapped in Via dell'amore, “Cracking eggs”, the egg symbol of life and birth of Porta San Giovanni and “Bouquet of tulips”, the tribute to the victims of terrorist acts in France at Porta Murata.
The return edition of the Maggiolata, this time without competition, with the novelty of the proposal of creations dedicated to the great artist Jeff Koons, is achieving extraordinary success and unanimous acclaim, "so much so that – revealed the artistic director and tourism councilor Stefano Cresti – we decided to write to the Maestro himself, informing him of Lucignano's homage to some of his most iconic works. We don't know if he will respond, we wanted to inform him."
La Maggiolata, with the patronage of the municipal administration, the Tuscany Region, the Province of Arezzo and the association of the most beautiful villages in Italy, continues with many events every day and the proposals of traditional food and wine excellences in the stands, awaiting the next releases scheduled for Sunday 29th and the grand finale on Wednesday 1 June, again at night, with the historic and highly anticipated "battle of flowers" through the streets of the town.
