Ancona, on May 31st Alessandro D'Avenia arrives at the Teatro delle Muse with his Ulysses.

Ancona under the spotlight, Friday May 31, in the large setting of the Teatro delle Muse, for the preview of Lonely Planet UlisseFest 2024, the festival dedicated to travel and discovery, in its seventh edition.

On stage, at 21 pm, an emblematic work in full compliance with the philosophy of the initiative: "Ulysses, the journey and our daily odyssey”.

The protagonist is the writer, screenwriter and teacher from Palermo Alessandro D'Avenia which will stop for the first time in the Marche capital, offering the public a reflection on the figure of the Homeric hero and the ability of the myth to positively influence our lives.

A preview that introduces the theme of this year's festival, “Exploring the unknown”.

The inspiration behind the seventh edition of UlisseFest– which will liven up the squares and theaters of Ancona 4 from July to 7 in fact, it deliberately highlights the continuous and incessant fulfillment of this action, the charm of discovery and its iteration in everyday life because, trying to look a little further is what we try to do every day, more or less consciously, when we travel, we experiment with new itineraries and deal with new scenarios.

The passion for TRAVEL, the great theme of the Festival, brings everyone together: in past editions the festival has captured the attention of thousands of spectators and has allowed a vast audience to meet Italian and international guests, united by this enthusiasm .

D'Avenia's recital

What can the figure of Ulysses and how can it help us resist? Why is the Odyssey the only work whose title we use to indicate a life journey? Perhaps because we are convinced that traveling, really and metaphorically, is the most powerful action that each of us has available to realize our self, rising from our mistakes and contributing to building a better world. This is also why our festival - already in the anticipation of the well-known writer and educator - recalls in its name the Homeric hero.
