80th Anniversary of the CLN Congress in Bari, in the presence of the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella: the program of the ceremony
The President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, will be in Bari for the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the CLN Congress. In the room there will be photos and historical images curated by IPSAIC.

The President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, will be in Bari on Monday 29 January on the occasion of the celebrations of the eightieth anniversary of the Bari Congress of the National Liberation Committees, which took place on 28 and 29 January 1944 in the Piccinni Theatre.
The event, organized by the Municipality of Bari and the Puglia Region, with the collaboration of ANPI - National Association of Partisans of Italy, IPSAIC - Pugliese Institute of Anti-Fascism and Contemporary Italy History, Di Vagno Foundation, Teatro Pubblico Pugliese, University of Bari , ANPPIA – National Association of Persecuted Italian Anti-Fascist Politicians, Gramsci Foundation and the Laterza publishing house, it will take place in the spaces of the municipal theater on the morning of January 29th, according to the following program:
9.50 am – entry of the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella into the Piccinni Theatre; presentation of the reception room, in the foyer of the theatre, named for the occasion after the journalist Oronzo Valentini, director of La Gazzetta del Mezzogiorno and editor of the Congress proceedings, in the presence of his sons Giovanni and Antonello.
In the room there will be photos and historical images curated by IPSAIC.
10 am – “Simply, Freedom”: the journalist Annamaria Minunno will read some passages from the chronicles of the 1944 Congress by Alba De Céspedes, writer and partisan.
Institutional greetings will follow:
· Antonio DeCaro – mayor of Bari
· Michele Emiliano – president of the Puglia Region
· Gianfranco Pagliarulo – president of ANPI.
Following, the event program includes the professor's lectio magistralis Luciano Canfora entitled “From the armistice to the Congress of Bari”.
Finally, at 10.50 am, the visual project by maestro Giuseppe Caccavale, “Italian freedom in the freedom of the world”, located at the entrance to the theater in the entrance hall of Palazzo di Città. The installation reproduces two historic sentences: the first pronounced by Benedetto Croce during his introductory speech at the Bari Congress, the second by Aldo Moro during the ceremony of the 20th anniversary of the CLN Congress.
