Sermoneta: Carabinieri arrest 40-year-old, already under house arrest, for mistreatment in the family

The Carabinieri Station of Sermoneta (LT), within the framework of a consistent strategy of monitoring and active listening for the emergence and contrast on crimes of gender violence and mistreatment against family members and cohabitants, continue to pay particular attention to the victims and to safeguarding their safety and security, the object of particularly insidious crimes which often develop within the family environment which is usually considered safe.

In this context, last 23th November, the Carabinieri of the aforementioned Station executed the order of pre-trial detention in prison issued against an 40 year old, investigated for mistreatment against family members or cohabitants, already under house arrest, issued against him by the GIP of the Court of Latina, at the request of the local Public Prosecutor's Office, to which the operating military had addressed the evaluation of a request for the issuing of a more adequate personal precautionary measure.

The Carabinieri, over time, have documented the further conduct of the suspect. In fact, after the execution of a first precautionary measure of removal from the family home and prohibition of approaching the injured party carried out on January 4th, the victim, after having overcome the initial reluctance to report what she had suffered, decided to represent the further episodes that occurred at the hands of the suspect, despite the prohibition to which he was subjected.

For this reason, last June, the man was subjected to the arrest, but even in this case, despite the more afflictive measure, the man has continued to harass the person injured by the crime, threatening her with every possible means, so much so as to induce the Judicial Authority to order, against him, the measure of pre-trial detention in prison.

Once the formal procedures were completed, the suspect was taken to the Latina District Prison, at the disposal of the sending Judicial Authority.
