Latina: Experimental intervention on the territory with the participation of all the Local Police personnel

In agreement with the mayor Matilde Celentano, the Local Police of Latina, led by the acting commander Sabrina Brancato, has carried out a extraordinary control service which saw the participation of all staff, including office staff, in a joint safety and prevention action. This experimental intervention was carried out with patrols on foot and by car and was divided into two shifts, from 9 am to 13 pm and from 14 pm to 19 pm, to ensure complete coverage of the city territory.

“The widespread presence and visibility of the police forces are essential to create a safer environment and to demonstrate that we are present, ready to intervene and respond to the needs of the community – declared the Mayor Matilde Celentano -. Thanks to the extraordinary service carried out by the Local Police, on the territory with 24 officers and 12 vehicles, 128 violations of the highway code were ascertained, ranging from crossing the sidewalks to illegal parking..

Furthermore, carried out: anti-bivouac and non-functioning parking meter checks, with relative reporting to the responsible company, and interventions, in synergy with Abc, for incorrect waste disposal. The service was carried out by car, but also on foot: the officers walked the streets of the city to monitor the safety of the area and facilitate direct contact with citizens. The garrison – concludes the mayor – represents a significant step towards strengthening prevention and making the support of the institutions serving the city felt.

The central area has been given priority, but other widespread checks of the territory will be planned, in close collaboration with the police forces, to respond promptly to the needs of citizens, to improve urban security and to increase the presence on the territory".
