Latina: 3 suspects arrested for the attempted murder of a peer and Daspo Willy issued for the other youngsters who participated in a violent brawl
The State Police of Latina has carried out the precautionary custody measures in prison issued by the Preliminary Investigations Judge at the Court of Latina, at the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office, against three young people, seriously accused, to varying degrees, of attempted multiple homicide against three peers, during a violent assault committed following a brawl that occurred in the Movida Latinense areas. Last November 23rd, in the so-called Pub area of Latina, around 23pm there had been a violent clash between the boys of two “rival” groups, in which about ten young people had participated. The heated phases of the first brawl lasted less than a minute and immediately afterwards all the participants had moved away.
Just 15 minutes after the first episode, some boys, including the three already involved previously, had returned to the scene, this time armed with a knife and supported by other friends. Perhaps with the intent of avenging the previous "slip" at that point the group violently attacked two of the youths who had taken part in the previous fight [a sixteen year old and an eighteen year old] and in the confusion a third individual, a minor, was also hit in the neck, who had simply tried to make the parties see reason.
When the patrol cars arrived, three boys remained on the scene, all wounded with a knife, one of these, a sixteen-year-old, was seriously injured and had been transported in very serious conditions to the hospital where, in danger of life, he underwent numerous surgical operations. The investigations, immediately started by the Flying Squad, allowed us to to immediately frame the probable criminal context where the event occurred: a disagreement between very young people gravitating towards the Colosseo group, composed mostly of minors, and other young people belonging to another "group", the Q4 group.
The identification of those involved and the reconstruction of the individual conducts was particularly complex; in particular the acquisition of testimonies from those present, made difficult both by the reluctance, especially initial, to collaborate with the investigators, and by the lack of direct knowledge of the members of the opposing group. Determinants in this sense Instead, the images from private video surveillance systems acquired on site by investigators were revealed. The identification of the suspects in the brawl and the perpetrators of the stabbing, carried out by the investigators of the State Police, allowed the search and seizure of the clothes of the alleged perpetrators; this activity allowed us to collect further evidence against them, which was followed by a intense work of analysis of video surveillance footage and comparison of the same with the seized clothes.
Following the investigation, the Flying Squad reported, under various titles, to the Public Prosecutor's Office of Latina and to the Juvenile Prosecutor's Office of Rome 16 individuals [nine of whom were minors], including three boys aged between eighteen and nineteen, reported for attempted multiple homicide in competition. The Preliminary Investigations Judge at the Court of Latina, having assessed the investigative results, has The three defendants have been ordered to be held in prison for precautionary measures, carried out by investigators from the Flying Squad.
Having assessed the seriousness of the facts ascertained and the risk of repetition, the Police Chief of Latina has the application of the DASPO Willy has been ordered for the 16 individuals identified by the State Police, measures being executed by the police officers of the Anti-Crime Division of the Latina Police Headquarters. It appears particularly alarming that the very serious facts and the attempted murder occurred in a completely ordinary context: none of the 16 individuals identified and reported to the Judicial Authority had ever emerged in police activity, all the boys involved had in fact no criminal record.
