Itri: Violence and resistance to a public official, 37-year-old repeat offender arrested

The Carabinieri of the Itri (LT) Station Command have a 37 year old local man, already known to the police, was arrested in flagrante delicto for the crime of violence and resistance to a public official. Specifically, the Carabinieri of the aforementioned Station, upon request received by 112 NUE, they intervened at the house where the man, in an evidently altered state, had made serious threats to his family members and attacked the 118 personnel who intervened. In the circumstance, the man also attacked the military personnel of the Arma who, after having blocked him, arrested him.

From the preliminary reconstruction carried out by the Carabinieri, it emerged that the man, previously hospitalised at the “Dono Svizzero” hospital in Formia following a similar event which had occurred the previous evening, had left the health facility to return home, where, in evident conflict with his family and in a state of agitation, probably due to the use of narcotic substances, had seriously threatened the family members and, subsequently, also the 118 personnel who intervened at the request of the relatives of the suspect.

Therefore, the intervention of the military was requested due to the serious danger to the safety of third parties and of the suspect himself, who had also manifested unwholesome intentions.. For the above, The 37-year-old was arrested and held in the security cells of the Carabinieri Company of Formia, awaiting the validation hearing with a direct trial, at the end of which, in addition to validating the arrest, the Judicial Authority has ordered the personal precautionary measure of the obligation to report to the Judicial Police. The proceeding is in the preliminary investigation phase and the principle of not guilty applies to the suspects until the final sentence, pursuant to art. 27 of the Constitution.
