Fondi: 2 men arrested on serious suspicion of murder of 63-year-old

On the morning of November 7, the Carabinieri of the Terracina Company (LT) carried out a precautionary custody order in prison, issued by the Court – Office of the Judge for Preliminary Investigations – of Latina, against two citizens of Lenola, seriously accused of the aggravated manslaughter of a 63-year-old, originally from Fondi, who his body was found on the morning of June 9th, by some family members, inside their own home, in Funds.

The preliminary findings appeared inconsistent with a death from natural causes, which is why the Public Prosecutor's Office of Latina, which coordinated the investigations, ordered an autopsy on the body, allowing us to ascertain that the death was the consequence of a double spleen injury, compatible with a beating happened in the previous days.

The investigations started by the military, including those of a technical nature, have allowed us to reconstruct how the event had occurred on the previous June 3, outside a bar in Lenola, by of the two suspects, called to the place by the owner of the business, to get rid of the annoying, but not dangerous, presence of the 63 year old foundano which often occurred clearly drunk, as on the occasion.

In this circumstance, the two attackers they savagely hit the victim, even with some chairs found outside the bar, as captured by an external camera of the video surveillance system.

During the investigations, a climate of widespread silence, characterized by reticent attitudes of various people informed about the facts, probably due to fear towards the two suspects, of whom a repeat offender, feared for his aggressive nature.

The two arrested were taken to the Latina prison, at the disposal of the Judicial Authority, to whom, without prejudice to the presumption of innocence pursuant to art. 115 bis of the Code of Criminal Procedure, they will have to answer for the serious charges of aggravated manslaughter.
