Aprilia: Operation “High Impact” against crime, 472 people identified
Widespread checks in the city of Aprilia as part of the“high impact” operation to combat widespread crime and ensure greater security. I extraordinary territorial control services, the subject of planning at the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Safety and carried out with the technical operational coordination of Police Chief Fausto Vinci, assisted by the Provincial Commanders of the Carabinieri Col. Christian Angelillo and the Guardia di Finanza Col. Giovanni Marchetti, were prepared following the recent criminal events that occurred in the city of Aprilia.
The inter-force checks covered various areas of the city, in particular the most degraded areas, places of nightlife and youth deviance, commercial establishments and areas characterised by a greater presence of foreign citizens, for the prevention and il contrasting widespread crime phenomena and preventing predatory crimes and drug dealingThe patrols and specialized departments of the State Police, the Carabinieri, the Guardia di Finanza and the Local Police of Aprilia, were deployed throughout the city and were used in the static and dynamic control activities of all subjects in transit.
The checkpoints carried out by all the forces employed, allowed for identify 472 individuals, of which 110 with police records for drug-related crimes, crimes against property and persons and check 382 vehicles, with the issuing of traffic violations. During the aforementioned services the Carabinieri have a 44 year old Tunisian citizen reported at large resident in Imola, already known to the police force, for the crime of theft. Specifically, the Carabinieri subjected the suspect to a check, finding him in possession of foodstuffs, worth approximately 100 euros, which he had stolen shortly before from a supermarket located in the area where the check was carried out.
We therefore proceeded to recovery of the stolen goods which were returned to the rightful owner. The Carabinieri also have a 25 year old local man reported to the competent UTG, which drug user, as he was found in possession of approximately one and a half grams of "hashish", subjected to administrative seizure. Furthermore, the operating military personnel have 4 administrative fines were issued for violations of the highway code, a vehicle was administratively seized and two driving licences were withdrawn. The police forces employed also engaged in control activities aimed at tracing any illegal foreign citizens on the territory, an activity which had a negative outcome.
During the services no significant events occurred, a tangible sign of the deterrent effect of the massive presence of patrols on the territory, which represents one of the objectives of the High Impact operations carried out throughout the province. The inter-force services and intensive controls of the territory will continue in the coming weeks, to ensure greater security and a lasting deterrent effect of criminal conduct.
